Make books

On 1st March I will be running Lo-fi DIY

Making things happen!

On Tuesday 1st of March 6 till 9 at Common Edge St

(Edge St, Northern Quarter)

Learn to make books

Using paper scraps and recycled bits and bobs I will be showing how to create small artists books, note and scrap books. Using maps, old envelopes, wallpapers, any spare paper! To create uniquely simple crafted books. Learn how to turn a piece of a4 paper into a scrap book in a few folds, make concertina books and learn simple book binding stitches.

All materials will be provided for which we request a £1 donation. But if there is any thing you would like to bring to use then please do. Turn a drawing into a book? Have some favourite gift wrap you don’t want to wrap with?

Common will take orders for our tea or whatever drinks and nibbles make take your fancy?

places must be booked nico@opheliabutton.co.uk

Lo Fi DIY is brought to you in association with Manchester Craft Mafia, a friendly bunch!

Sheffield

my usual craft fairs are usually in and around Manchester sometimes sneaking into the rest of Lancashire but tomorrow I will be at The Showroom Cinema and Workstation in Sheffield!!!! I grew up in Sheffield and it's great to finally get round to doing a craft fair there. The workshop is run my Fifi markets for more details on this fair and to see examples of over exhibitors check out their site http://www.fifismarkets.com/

I keep coming back to the Workstation just after school a was involved in a radio project there part of Sheffield's children's festival at just 16 and they let me live on radio, think we only got told off once for bad language. ops! and then when I was a at college my work experience was for a Graphic design company based there. though both experiences were great really hoping to actually make some money this time.

I'll be doing more craft fairs in Yorkshire and in Derbyshire over Spring and Summer more details to follow

Trash!

An Illustration I have just done for Amelia's magazine for an article about The Trash Fashion Exhibition at the Science Museum http://antenna.sciencemuseum.org.uk/trashfashion/
The original dress container 1000 pieces of folded paper admittedly mine doesn't contain that many... but each of the handmade paper origami cranes I made for this illustration are less than 2 centimetres in height.
